College Basketball: Lehigh, Montana, LIU capture bids

C.J. McCollum scored 29 points as Lehigh held off Bucknell, 82-77, in Lewisburg, Pa., on Wednesday night to win the Patriot League tournament.

The Mountain Hawks (26-7) earned their second trip to the NCAA tournament in three seasons. Mike Muscala finished with 30 points and 14 rebounds for the Bison (24-9).

LIU 90, Robert Morris 73 - C.J. Garner scored 21 points as the Blackbirds (25-8) won their second straight Northeast Conference championship over the Colonials (24-10) in front of a raucous crowd in their little gym on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn that included the city's most famous basketball fan, Spike Lee.

Montana 85, Weber State 66 - Kareem Jamar scored 23 points and the Grizzlies (25-6) beat the Wildcats (24-6) in Missoula, Mont., to win the Big Sky Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

Honors

Penn's Zack Rosen was named the Ivy League player of the year in a unanimous vote by the league's coaches.

The senior guard from St. Benedict's Prep in New Jersey was one of two players voted unanimously to the all-Ivy first team along with Princeton junior Ian Hummer.

Penn's Rob Belcore received honorable mention.

Philadelphia University's Christine Wooding (Mainland High) was named to the Daktronics Division II all-East team. The player of the year in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, she led the league in scoring at 19.8 points per game.
