Fandemonium: For Dallyn Pavey, 'no one compares to a live Bruce Springsteen show'

Posted: March 27, 2012

Fandemonium: Bruce Springsteen

Name: Dallyn Pavey.

Age: 53.

Occupation: Restaurant and music publicist.

Roots: Philadelphia and the Main Line.

First show: 1974 at the Main Point in Bryn Mawr.

How many shows? More than 100, and I'm seeing both sold-out shows Wednesday and Thursday at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly.

Why Bruce Springsteen? I have never seen anyone perform live like him. My previous work in radio allowed me to attend many concerts, and to this day no one compares to a live Bruce Springsteen show. If he plays five nights in Philly, I go all five nights. I have never missed a show here.

Greatest Springsteen memory: Bruce pulled me out of the audience at the Spectrum on March 9, 1988, to dance with him for "Dancing In the Dark." (Every night he pulled a girl on stage for the song.) It was the most unbelievable thing ever. My mother was there and my friends. "I love you, Bruce," I said while Bruce and I danced. He said, "You're a really good dancer." He hugged me at the end.
