NEWARK, N.J. - Center Spencer Hawes, demoted to a reserve role, responded with 19 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks as the 76ers (30-27) got a strong effort from their reserves in a 107-88 victory over the New Jersey Nets (21-39) Tuesday night at the Prudential Center.
Hawes and Evan Turner (two points) were benched before the game in favor of Jodie Meeks and rookie Nik Vucevic.
The victory ended a four- game losing streak for the Sixers, who won't get much time to enjoy the victory. After the game they were on a charter to Toronto for a game Wednesday against the Raptors.
