Chatting About the NFL Draft

Posted: April 13, 2012

Eagles writers Jeff McLane and Jonathan Tamari of The Inquirer, Paul Domowitch and Les Bowen of the Daily News, and Sheil Kapadia of philly.com held a live mock NFL draft chat Thursday on philly.com.

Go to www.philly.com/mockdraftpics for the complete list of their picks. Here is a sample:

Domowitch: (first pick) Colts: QB Andrew Luck. No mystery here.

Bowen: (second pick) Redskins: RG III. The mystery here is whether hapless Daniel Snyder will be able to somehow avoid building a Super Bowl team around this guy.

Kapadia: (fifth pick) Bucs: Morris Claiborne, LSU, CB. Well, Ronde Barber is 37 and Aqib Talib is awaiting trial on an assault charge, so cornerback seems like a good idea here.

McLane: (seventh pick) Jaguars: Melvin Ingram, DE, South Carolina. The Jags need a top-flight edge rusher, and Ingram is the top pass rusher in the draft.

Tamari: (ninth pick). Panthers: Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina. I think the Panthers take a shot on his talent.
