Game 4: Penguins at Flyers

Posted: April 18, 2012

Players to watch

FLYERS:Goalie Ilya Bryzgalov

With all the scoring the Flyers have been doing, Bryzgalov's mediocre play has fallen under the radar. He has a 3.95 goals-against average and .868 save percentage, and it looks like sitting out four of the last six regular-season games - three because of an injury - has caused him to lose his rhythm.

PENGUINS:Center Evgeni Malkin

The NHL's leading scorer with109 points in the regular season, Malkin has failed to score a goal in the series as he has been hounded by Flyers rookie Sean Couturier. If the Penguins are going to send the series back to Pittsburgh, Malkin must get untracked.

Three keys to the game

1.

The Penguins' special teams can be described in one word: atrocious. The Flyers are 6 for 10 on the power play and have three shorthanded goals. If this trend continues, the Pens can get tee times for Thursday.

2.

The Flyers have done a great job of showing discipline, drawing penalties and not retaliating on the Penguins' cheap shots. With the excitement of trying to close out a series, can they retain that focus?

3.

Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury must shake off a disastrous three-game performance (6.34 GAA, .798 save percentage). Has an elite goaltender ever looked as bad as Fleury did in Game 3?
