Madonna: Lourdes did bad
“To be a single mother of four and to work as much as I do, with my life in a kind of metaphorical fishbowl, it’s pretty challenging.” So says Material Girl turned Mystical Mom Madonna about the many challenges of having a teenage daughter.
Madge says she was upset to see photos of 15-year-old Lourdes smoking a cig.
“It’s hard, though. … Every day is a negotiation,” the singer tells NBC’s Harry Smith. “But...I don’t approve of anyone smoking cigarettes, most of all my daughter.”
Wait, didn’t the “Like a Virgin” diva, who is a vocal nonsmoker, drag longingly (and a tad hypocritically?) on a cig in her “Girls Gone Wild” music video? “That’s just an accessory, Harry. There’s a difference,” her M-ness says.
Just as it is in cig ads.
Kathy Griffin’s perfect guest: Mom
Kathy Griffin, 51, says her new talk show on Bravo will be relatively celebrity-free. If they do come on, she tells USA Today, they’ll have to loosen up “and let it rip.”
Kathy’s perfect guest? Her ma, Maggie.
“Is my 91-year-old mom going to be drunk? You betcha,” she says. No wonder. Kathy says her talk-show role models are “ the people who are supposedly doing everything wrong.…I love Bill Maher, I love Joan Rivers, I love Howard Stern.”
Don’t look for Kathy’s beau, who is 18 years her junior, to guest star on the show. Kathy won’t name the mystery man.
