La Salle fell, 20-7, to host Massachusetts on Friday. With the win, the Minutemen (15-1, 6-0) clinch the A-10 regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the A-10 championship. Senior Nora McGurkin led La Salle (9-6, 2-4) with two goals and two assists.
Temple tennis advances
Paola Calderon scored two points for the Temple women's tennis team in Friday's quarterfinal match of the Atlantic Ten championship tournament in Charlottesville, Va., to help the Owls to a 4-0 win over Xavier. Temple will play top-seeded Massachusetts in a Saturday semifinal.

Penn State Abington has honored five athletes with various awards:
Senior men's basketball guard Josh Howard (Bensalem) and sophomore cross-country runner Kathryn Colley (Montoursville, Pa.) received the Wes Olsen Memorial Scholar Athlete Award. Freshman women's soccer midfielder Adriana Rodriguez (Oceanside, Calif.) won the outstanding freshman chemistry award. Men's lacrosse midfielder Arya Kermanshah (Dubai) won the Bertha Lear Purchase Award. And freshman women's lacrosse midfielder Victoria Brady (North Penn) won the President's Award.
Called up
Villanova signee Ryan Arcidiacono, a Neshaminy High School senior, is among the 24 players who have accepted invitations to attend the USA Basketball men's under-18 national team training camp, scheduled for June 5-2 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The 12-member team will be selected before the 2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championship set for June 16-20 in Brazil.
Schedule change
The threat of rain has changed the start time of the Swarthmore softball and baseball team's Saturday games. The home baseball doubleheader against Franklin and Marshall will start at noon, and the softball team's doubleheader at Haverford will begin at 11:30 a.m.
