St. Joseph’s men’s basketball coach Phil Martelli hosts the 3rd annual Martelli Games from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Dave & Buster’s Plymouth Meeting.
The corporate team-building competition is a benefit for the Developmental Enterprises Corporation.
Participants include Martelli’s fellow coaches Bruiser Flint, of Drexel; John Giannini, of La Salle; Penn’s Jerome Allen; Delaware’s Monte Ross; Temple assistant coach Dave Duke; and Baker Dunleavy, assistant coach at Villanova. 94WIP’s Rhea Hughes and 97.5 The Fanatic’s Joe DeCamara will also take part, along with 1210 WPHT’s Rick Grimaldi.

Tribute to Levon Helm
In honor of Levon Helm, The Band’s drummer who died last week of cancer, mrCharlie will perform a mini-set of The Band’s songs, primarily ones on which Helm sang lead, for the group’s Saturday show at the Tin Angel (20 S. 2nd).
mrCharlie’s lead singer/guitarist Lloyd Bashkin points out the area’s connection to The Band. It was the old Tony Mart’s nightclub in Somers Point, where Bob Dylan discovered and recruited Levon and The Hawks in 1965 as his backup band. The group eventually became The Band.
