SEVEN TEMPLE players agreed to terms as undrafted free agents, bringing the total number of signees to 10, equaling the school record set last year.

During the draft, running back Bernard Pierce was selected in the third round by the Baltimore Ravens, tight end/fullback Evan Rodriguez was selected in the fourth round by the Chicago Bears, and linebacker Tahir Whitehead (Newark, N.J.) was selected in the fifth round by the Detroit Lions.

The trio ties the school record for the most Owls drafted in a single year (1946, 1975 1980, and 1987).

The group of undrafted free agents is offensive lineman Pat Boyle to Detroit; defensive end Morkeith Brown to Tampa Bay; offensive lineman Derek Dennis to Miami; linebacker Stephen Johnson to New Orleans; defensive end Adrian Robinson to Pittsburgh; wide receiver Rod Streater to Oakland; and offensive lineman Wayne Tribue to Denver.

Three Nittany Lions were taken in the draft, led by defensive end Devon Still, chosen by the Cincinnati Bengals with the 53rd overall pick.

On Saturday, guard Johnnie Troutman was selected in the fifth round (149 overall) by San Diego. Nine picks later, Oakland chose Jack Crawford and the Raiders then added linebacker Nate Stupar in the seventh round (230 overall). Stupar is the seventh Linebacker U product drafted since 2007.

After the draft, nine PSU players caught on with NFL teams: Safety Nick Sukay with Buffalo; wide receiver Derek Moye with Miami; cornerback D'Anton Lynn and running back Stephfon Green with the Jets; tight end Andrew Sczcerba with Dallas; offensive lineman Quinn Barham with Detroit; defensive end Eric Lattimore with Minnesota; offensive lineman Deon'tae Pannell with New Orleans; and cornerback Chaz Powell with the Raiders.

Lynn will join his father, Anthony, who is the Jets' running backs coach.
