He's shot dead inside running car
* Lawrence Street near Annsbury, Feltonville
A person stumbled upon a man who'd been shot dead slumped in the driver's seat of a running car Monday night, cops said.
Police said they received a call for a man in a red 2001 Mercury Sable parked in a driveway behind an apartment complex at 8:29 p.m. When they arrived at the scene, they found the 37-year-old victim dead in the driver's seat with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the neck.
Investigators found one .40-caliber shell casing behind the car, and one bullet hole in the rear driver's side window. They were unsure what motivated the shooting or how long the man had been there.
Powelton Village cafe robbed
* Lancaster Avenue near 36th Street
A gun-toting man robbed the Green Line Cafe of about $500 Monday afternoon - less than a week after another location of the cafe was held up.
He ran from the Lancaster Avenue coffee shop and soon afterward, police took in a man for questioning who fit the suspect's description. He was released Monday night after police determined that he wasn't the robber.
The robber was described as a white man in his early 20s, about 5 feet 10. Police said he was wearing a gray hoodie and a black mask over his face.
Monday's holdup was likely committed by the same man who robbed a Green Line Cafe on Locust Street near 45th on Thursday, cops said. In that robbery, a man approached the counter about 9:35 p.m. brandishing a gun and demanding money.
