Bensalem school employees probed over timesheets

Posted: May 04, 2012

Officials in Bensalem Township have confirmed they are investigating several school district employees for allegedly submitting falsified time sheets for work they never performed.

Bensalem Public Safety Director Frederick Harran said the district notified his office of the allegations. Subsequently, the police department began an investigation.

“We are working with the school district on the investigation, to see the exact scope of people’s involvement and what transpired,” Harran said today. “And if any laws were broken, or thefts occurred, there will be consequences for those involved.”

Bensalem Superintendent of Schools David E. Baugh issued a statement Wednesday acknowledging an investigation is under way. Baugh could not immediately be reached for comment this afternoon.

The employees being investigated worked in the facilities department. Two employees have already resigned, but their names have not been released.
