Connecticut. The International Festival of Arts & Ideas, a showcase of music, dance, and theater performances in New Haven, runs June 16 through June 30. Highlights include performances by Grammy-nominated Carolina Chocolate Drops, Red Baraat & Noori, Sing the Truth, Asphalt Orchestra, National Theater of Scotland, Kyle Abraham and Abraham.In.Motion, Mark Morris Dance Group, and Roseanne Cash. Maine. The Kennebunkport Festival, June 5 to 9, includes Art of Dining — intimate, private dinners prepared by some of Maine’s top chefs; art events; music; and more. Pennsylvania. Kreidersville Covered Bridge Festival, a celebration of the last historic covered bridge in Northampton County, is June 2 and 3 at 100 Covered Bridge Rd., Northampton. Free parking and entry. Children’s area, musical entertainment, a tractor-pulled hayride, historical exhibits, and demonstrations. Rhode Island. The 33d Annual Festival of Historic Houses, presented by the Providence Preservation Society, is June 1 to 3. Neighborhoods visited include the Elmgrove area of College Hill (named one of the 10 Best Neighborhoods in America in 2011 by the American Planning Association), as well as tours of the Jewelry district. Vermont. The Strolling of the Heifers Weekend, June 1 to 3, in Brattleboro, aims to connect people with healthy local foods and with the farmers and producers who bring it to them. The centerpiece is the Strolling of the Heifers Parade (10 a.m. June 2). Sunday features the Tour de Heifer, a trio of scenic farm-to-farm bicycle rides ranging from 6 to 60 miles.
