Nonprofit receives money to help ex-offenders

Impact Services Corp. in Philadelphia is receiving $1.3 million from the U.S. Labor Department, part of $20.5 million distributed to 18 nonprofits to fund employment-related services to formerly incarcerated adults returning to high-crime, high-poverty communities. Since 2000, Impact has served 3,354 ex-offenders, and placed 1,651 in full-time employment, according to the organization's website. Jane M. Von Bergen
