Fire rips through Logan apartment

A fire tore through a unit at the Camac Street apartments early this morning in Philadelphia’s Logan section, displacing 10 people.

The blaze began about 5:30 a.m. on the 5000 block of N. Camac and Lindley Streets. Heavy smoke showed from Unit C on the second floor of the three story building.

Some residents were trapped and had to be rescued by firefighters.

The fire was quickly brought under control and no one was injured. The Red Cross of Southeastern PA responded to assist those displaced.

No word yet on the cause of the blaze, which is still under investigation.
