For kicks: Toronto is at the bottom of the MLS standings, but confidence is sure to come from a win in the Amway Canadian Championship, following a 1-0 win over Vancouver in the final Wednesday night … The win granted Toronto entrance in the 2012-13 CONCACAF Champions League … Reggie Lambe scored the game winner and Lambe also leads the team with two goals … Goals have been tough to come by for Toronto though, which has scored just seven while conceding 21 (-14 goal differential) … the Union is coming off a tough match of its own, a 1-1 draw with FC Dallas, which found a few members of the Union roughed up postgame. Union captain Carlos Valdes suffered a laceration over his left eye, but announced via Twitter that he "will be OK for Saturday." Also this match is the first of two in a 72 hour period for the Union as it hosts Rochester in third round play of the U.S. Open Cup Tuesday (7:30 p.m.).
