Sheila Reid qualified for the NCAA Division I outdoor track and field championships for the fourth consecutive season, leading five Villanova runners into the national meet beginning June 6 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Reid covered 5,000 meters in 16 minutes, 13.47 seconds in the regional in Jacksonville, Fla., to qualify with teammate Bogdana Mimic, who clocked 16:28.14. Other Villanova athletes to qualify were Shericka Ward in the 100-meter hurdles (13.25 seconds), Samuel Ellison (Upper Dublin) in the men's 800 (1:47.76), and Samuel McEntee in the men's 1,500 (3:48.73).
