NJSIAA State Track and Field Preview

Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. Groups 1 and 4 and Non-Public A at Carl Sandburg Middle School in Old Bridge; Groups 2 and 3 and Non-Public B at South Plainfield High School.

 

Group 4

Cherry Hill East senior Alex Reber. The Villanova-bound athlete won the 200 (21.64 seconds), 400 (47.96) and 400 hurdles (53.78) and anchored the 4x400 relay to victory as the Cougars won the South Jersey Group 4 title.

Cherry Hill East senior Brian Regan. The Bucknell-bound football star won the 100 at sectionals (10.76) and was second in the 200 (21.88).

Pennsauken junior Antwan Dickerson. He won the triple jump (45 feet, 101/4 inches) and high jump (6-6) and was second in the long jump at sectionals.

Eastern senior Tom Carr. He won the javelin at sectionals (186-5).

Cherokee senior Shawn Wilson. He won the 3,200 (9:38.73) and 1,600 (4:19.26) at sectionals.

Group 3

Oakcrest senior Fabian Santiago. He won the 100 (10.54) and 200 (21.00) at sectionals.

Delsea junior Josh Awotunde. He won the discus (169-0) and was second in the shot put at sectionals.

Highland sophomore Steve Maine. He won the 3,200 (9:37.68) at sectionals.

Group 2

Willingboro senior Isaac Williams. This Houston-bound athlete won the high hurdles (14.16), 100 (11.21) and 200 (22.38) at sectionals.

Bridgeton junior Braheme Days. He won the shot put (64-53/4) and discus (170-8) at sectionals and threw the shot 70-8 indoors.

Group 1

Woodbury junior Anthony Averett. He won the 100 (10.91), 200 (22.66), long jump (23-33/4) and high jump (6-4) at sectionals and long-jumped 25-21/2 at the Woodbury Relays.

Haddon Township senior Tim Kenna. He won the 3,200 (9:57.48) and was second in the 1,600 at sectionals.

Haddon Heights junior Dominique Irons. He won the triple jump (47-1/2) at sectionals and won the Meet of Champions in the event last season.

Non-Public A

Holy Cross sophomore Chris Mirabelli. He won the javelin (183-8) at sectionals.

Holy Spirit sophomore A.J. Dawson. He won the 100 (11.04) at sectionals.

Group 4

Shawnee senior Annie Johnson. She won the 100 (12.07), 200 (24.49), and 400 (56.44) at sectionals.

Cherokee senior Megan Lacy. This Stanford-bound athlete won the 1,600 (4:55.66) and 3,200 (10:34.46) at sectionals.

Cherokee senior Jess Woodard. She won the shot put (44-8) and discus (132-9) at sectionals.

Vineland senior Maria Jimmenez. She won the javelin (152-6) at sectionals.

Group 3

Delsea senior Ashley Woodards. She won the 200 (25.20), 400 (56.80) and 400 hurdles (1:03.23) at sectionals.

Group 2

Haddonfield senior Katie Johnston. She won the shot put (40-5) and javelin (136-5) and was second in the discus at sectionals.

West Deptford senior Megan Kirschling. She won the high jump (5-8) at sectionals and went 5-10 at the Woodbury Relays.

Pemberton senior Shailah Williams. She won the 100 (12.49), 200 (25.47), and 400 (57.24) at sectionals.

West Deptford senior Samantha Budd. At sectionals, she won the 800 (2:30.61) and 1,600 (5:13.18).

Group 1

Penns Grove sophomore Faleesha Dowe. She won the 100 (12.56), 200 (25.84), and 400 (57.39) at sectionals.

Glassboro senior Asia Pendleton. She won the long jump (17-21/2), high jump (5-0), and high hurdles (15.27) at sectionals.
