2 Jersey tix just miss jackpots

Posted: June 05, 2012

The biggest jackpot around got bigger over the weekend, as Powerball’s annuity prize rose to $177 million for Wednesday’s drawing. The cash value: $120.6 million.

Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot also went up, but just to $14 million — less than Jersey’s Pick Six — after no one matched all the numbers drawn Friday night: 2, 27, 38, 46 and 52, with a Mega Ball of 45.

New Jersey just missed the jackpots with two tickets sold in Bergen County.

Winning $250,000 was a Mega Millions ticket sold at G&G Liquor & Wine in Teaneck. It matched the first five numbers, but not the Mega Ball. So did three California tickets and one each in Massachusetts and North Carolina, though their payoffs may have varied.

Winning $1 million was a Powerball ticket sold at a 7-Eleven in Riverdale, N.J., It matched the first five numbers — 9, 10, 17, 29 and 45 — but not the Powerball of 33. A Colorado ticket also won $1 million.

Tonight’s jackpot in Jersey’s Pick 6 Lotto is up to $18.3 million for the annuity, $14.1 for the cash. It’s been slowly building all year. The odds are a dozen times more favorable than those for Mega Millions or Powerball.
