La Salle heads to state boys' lacrosse title game

LA SALLE will make its third appearance in the PIAA boys’ lacrosse state tournament championship game in the last 4 years after racing past Mount Lebanon, 12-3, in the state semifinals at Penn State University on Tuesday.

Matt Rambo accounted for half of the Explorers’ offense, piling up six goals and assisting on another, while Adam Schaal and Adam Stefanowicz added two goals apiece. Rambo scored three goals in a 28-second span of the second quarter as La Salle grabbed an 8-1 halftime advantage.

Also for La Salle (20-4), Casey Eidenshink had five of his team’s 26 ground balls, Dillon Pierce had two assists, and goalies Nick Hreshko and Colin McDougall combined for four saves.

La Salle will face Conestoga, a 10-2 winner over Radnor in the other semifinal, in the state championship game at 3 p.m. Saturday at HersheyPark Stadium.
