Order: The No. 2, a double cheeseburger with a side of fries.

Phindings: As the Phoodmeister strolled the concourse at Citizens Bank Park earlier this week, he pondered a heretofore unpondered question: Can you get a decent hamburger in our red-spattered slice of baseball heaven? We sought our answer at the establishment named, of course, for the venerable purveyor of meat.
The No. 2 consisted of two ground beef patties and an equal number of American cheese slices, plus lettuce, tomato, a smattering of diced fresh onion, ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise — all nestled inside a traditional seeded bun.
We were pleasantly surprised by this belly-filler. While it would never be confused with the burgers so many top-shelf restaurants offer these days, the No. 2 was impressive in its own way. The ingredients seemed fresh (including the bun), and there were no false notes taste-wise.
Because this is a self-serve operation, the food is premade and placed on shelves. So the burger could have been hotter. Likewise the accompanying large order of fries, which had more than a hint of actual potato taste, an increasingly rare occurrence.
Final score: The double cheeseburger at Hatfield Grill had an agreeable taste and was a satisfactory amount of food for the price. Fittingly, we'll call it a double. n
