Pa. Boys: Crim's arm helps Hatboro-Horsham move on

Zach Crim brought Wyoming Valley West's 15-game win streak to a sudden end on Thursday when the Hatboro-Horsham righthander tossed a 2-0 six-hit shutout in the quarterfinals of the PIAA State Class AAAA baseball tournament at Parkland.

Zach Prendergast doubled and scored the winning run on Ryan Kelly's second-inning single, and Tyler Zingle added an insurance run an inning later on Connor Crookham's sacrifice fly. Zingle had been caught stealing but was awarded second base by interference, setting up the run.

The Hatters (22-4) will face the winner of Friday's La Salle-Central Dauphin game in Monday's semifinals.

State Class A. GAMP's bid to reach the state semifinals ended with a 5-1 loss to District 3 champion Lancaster County Christian in the quarterfinals at Unionville.

GAMP took a 1-0 lead into the fifth inning as pitcher Desmond Drummond scored the run on an error on Nick Carine's ground ball, but LCC rebounded with three runs in the fifth inning.

Postponements. The doubleheader at Muhlenberg involving La Salle and Neumann-Goretti was stopped by rain and rescheduled for Friday.

Neumann-Goretti and Blue Mountain were tied, 2-2, in the fourth inning when the Class AAA game was stopped. La Salle and Central Dauphin will play their AAAA game when the first game ends.
