Woman hit, pinned under car, crossing Rt. 38 in Mt. Laurel

A 24-year-old woman was struck by a car and seriously injured while crossing Route 38 in Mount Laurel during this morning's rush hour. police said.

The victim, identified as Sherina Detreville, of Burlington City, was pinned under the vehicle for some time before rescue crews could free her.

She was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital. No word yet on her condition.

Police said Detreville was crossing the highway near Briggs Avenue about 8:45 a.m. whens she was struck in the eastbound lanes by a car driven by Jennifer Montano, 30, of Mount Laurel.

Montano remained at the scene and has not been charged.

Police ask anyone who might have witnesses to the accident to call investigators at (856) 234-1414 Ext. 1565.
