Three police officers were injured — none seriously — in a two separate patrol car crashes in Philadelphia this morning.
In the first incident, two officers were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center after their cruiser swerved and slammed into a tree on the 5600 block of North 16th Street in the Ogontz section at about 6:30 a.m., police said.
About an hour later, a 56-year-old police officer was hurt when it his patrol car was hit on its passenger side by a van on the 400 block of West Erie Avenue in North Philadelphia, possible, officials said. A passenger in the van's driver also suffered minor leg injuries.
