Three police officers were injured — none seriously — in a two separate patrol car crashes in Philadelphia this morning.

In the first incident, two officers were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center after their cruiser swerved and slammed into a tree on the 5600 block of North 16th Street in the Ogontz section at about 6:30 a.m., police said.

About an hour later, a 56-year-old police officer was hurt when it his patrol car was hit on its passenger side by a van on the 400 block of West Erie Avenue in North Philadelphia, possible, officials said. A passenger in the van's driver also suffered minor leg injuries.

The officer was taken to Temple University Hospital complaining of neck, back and shoulder pain, medics reported.

Police said the officer was westbound on Erie when his car was struck by the van, which was southbound on Lawrence Street.

Both accidents are under investigation.
