Philadelphia Union fall to USL Pro affiliate Harrisburg City Islanders, 3-2, in friendly at HersheyPark Stadium

JORGE PERLAZA scored in his debut, but a reserve-laden Union fell to USL Pro affiliate Harrisburg, 3-2, Tuesday night in a friendly at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey.

Perlaza tied the match in the 41st minute when he scored on a half volley assisted by midfielder Michael Lahoud. Credit Kai Herdling with the Union's second goal, via a free kick in the 81st minute, but a pair of second-half goals gave the Islanders their first win against the Union.

Tom Mellor, Yann Ekra and Garrett Pettis scored for Harrisburg, which will face the Union again on June 26 at 7:30 p.m. at PPL Park in quarterfinal play of the U.S. Open Cup.

The Union (2-7-2 in MLS) returns to league play Saturday against Eastern Conference rival D.C. United at PPL Park (7 p.m., Comcast Network/Galavisión).
