A 31-year-old woman and a 6-year-old boy were seriously burned this morning in a fire in Kensington.
Both were taken to Hahnemann University Hospital. The boy appeared to be the most seriously injured with medics reporting he had suffered third-degree burns to his face and upper body and second-degree burns to his legs. Medics reported the woman had suffered second-degree burns to her hands.
The small fire broke out in the second-floor kitchen of a rowhouse in the the 600 block of East Indiana Avenue, and was reported at 7:55 a.m., according to Executive Fire Chief Richard Davison. It was declared under control two minutes later.
