Romney bus might make a stop in Bucks on Saturday

Mitt Romney's "Every Town Counts" bus tour will pass through Pennsylvania on Saturday and might make a stop in Bucks County, officials said.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee is scheduled to make a morning visit to the Weatherly Casting & Machine Co. in Carbon County and then an afternoon appearance at the Cornwall Iron Furnace in Lebanon County, said campaign spokeswoman Kate Meriwether. Romney will speak at both appearances and also will tour the Weatherly facility.

Between the two appearances, the bus may make one or more stops along the way, Meriwether said.

Pat Poprik, Bucks County GOP chair, said she was waiting for confirmation from Romney's campaign that the candidate might make a brief stop in the Quakertown area.

The five-day bus tour is a campaign swing through six states starting in New Hampshire and ending in Michigan.

A Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday showed Romney trailing President Obama by six percentage points (46-40) in Pennsylvania, which is regarded as a key battleground state. The poll had a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.
