St. Joseph's Prep chooses Falcone as baseball coach

St. Joseph's Prep has named Joe Falcone its baseball coach. He served as an assistant under Chris Rupertus the last two seasons.

"I'm excited about the opportunity to take over for Chris and build on the success that we've had," Falcone said. "My goal for this program is to continue to strive for excellence every season."

Falcone, chairman of the Prep's mathematics department, previously taught and coached baseball at La Salle High.

Rupertus stepped down for personal reasons after compiling a 153-114 mark in 11 seasons. He won Catholic League titles in 2007 and 2008.
