Fathers' Day weekend fun for Colin Farrell

Colin Farrell had a happy Fathers Day weekend.

The actor, still shooting mob drama "Dead Man Down" in town and his young son ran and played in the grass at Independence Mall Saturday evening. The pair spent some time in the Independence Visitors Center where they were largely unnoticed until an employee at the refreshment stand called out, "That's Colin Farell," and his co-worker asked the movie star, "Hey, what's your name?"Keeping it cool, Farrell passed by without breaking stride and said "The name is Colin. Nice to meet you," and kept walking says our spy.

In other Hollywood news...

Sigourney Weaver was spotted lunching at Parc on Rittenhouse Square a few days before the USA miniseries in which she is starring "Political Animals," began shooting at Raw (1225 Sansom) which was being used for a club scene. The show, which is getting rave reviews thus far from critics with sneak previews, premieres July 15 and shoots around town through mid-July.

Musician matrimony

Congratulations to None More Black frontman Jason Shevchuk and Laura Doerfler, who works in medical coding and billing, who were married Saturday. Shevchuk, former Kid Dynamite vocalist and Doerfler, who designed their floral arrangements for the wedding at the Stockton Inn in Stockton, NJ, will honeymoon in St. Maarten. They have been dating for about four years.

TV tidbits

Connecticut-raised Jenn Bernstein has joined CBS 3 and CW Philly as a general assignment reporter. She worked most recently at Fox CT in Hartford, Conn and previously worked in Buffalo and Albany. She starts the week of July 9.

Marlton native actor Adam Dorfman is among students of New York performance coach Trapper Felides who is seen on Oxygen's "The Next Big Thing." The show airs at 11 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Foodstuffs

Restaurateur Bobby Flay, who played himself over a few episodes on the last season of HBO's "Entourage" was spotted recently touring available units at the luxury high-rise 10 Rittenhouse.

Flay, who owns a Bobby's Burger Palace (3925 Walnut) is in town occasionally on business. His publicist said he looked at an apartment "A year ago" but isn't buying a place here. When we pointed out that he was spotted looking at 10 Rittenhouse within the past month, she did not reply.

"Top Chef" alum Mike Isabella is coming up from Washington D.C. to cook at the 8th annual Chef's Dinner for PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society) taking place June 25 at the Union League. The event features more than 40 chefs, also including "Top Chef" winner Kevin Sbraga of Sbraga (Broad & Lombard) and Michael Schulson of Sampan (114 S. 13th) and Tom Pizzica from "Next Food Network Star." WWE wrestler Wade Barrett was happy to sign autographs for a few young fans over dinner Saturday at Saloon (750 S. 7th).

United States Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice went for a cup of chowder at Legal Sea Foods at Philadelphia International Airport Saturday night.
