Ruiz remains third in All-Star voting

The Phillies' Carlos Ruiz remains third in fan balloting to be the National League's starting catcher in the All-Star Game.

Ruiz has 1,756,018 votes and trails the Giants' Buster Posey (2,445,005) and the Cardinals' Yadier Molina (2,291,567).

Ruiz is seeking to make his first All-Star team.

Among outfielders, Hunter Pence (1,234,428 votes) is seventh and Shane Victorino is 13th with 1,039,970 votes.

Jimmy Rollins is fourth among shortstops with 983,520 votes. The Cardinals' Rafael Furcal leads with 1,741,360, followed by Colorado's Troy Tulowitzki (1,647,235) and the Cubs' Starlin Castro (1,006,333).

Placido Polanco is fifth among third basemen with 912,648 votes. The Mets' David Wright leads with 1,977,388 over the Giants' Pablo Sandoval (1,612,497), the Braves' Chipper Jones (1,547,221) and the Cardinals' David Freese (1,540,085).

In-stadium voting ends Friday, but online voting continues through June 28. Rosters will be announced on July 1, with fans being able to select the final player for each team's roster from July 1 to 5. The game is July 10 in Kansas City.
