‘SideShow': Depp, Paradis lost; Alec Baldwin amok; Bobby Brown weds; Kristen Stewart cashes in!

Posted: June 21, 2012

Johnny Depp and his Gallic muse, singer Vanessa Paradis, have broken up after 14 years and two children, Lily-Rose, 13, and Jack, 9. "Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have amicably separated," Depp's rep tells Entertainment Tonight in a terse statement.

The end began months ago. The two haven't done the red carpet together for more than a year. (Families who do the red carpet together, stay together, my granddad used to say.) Seems they've led separate lives ever since they quit France, where they lived in the idyllic village of Plan-de-la-Tour, a hamlet of fewer than 3,000 souls in the southeast. They left for an extended sojourn in that antihumanist hotbed of lust, greed, deceit, and envy, that least harmonious, most severe of human environments, Los Angeles. Says one Insider to People of the split, "It's so sad." Zombie films the Flyers!

Deadline.com says Rob Zombie is going to make Broad Street Bullies, a film about the 1970s-era Philadelphia Flyers! Makes sense, what with Zomb's taste for mayhem, gore, and decorative masks. "Each character involved is more outrageous than the next," Zombie said. Flyers god and team senior vice president Bobby Clarke loves it: "The great Rob Zombie making a drama feature film about the Broad Street Bullies is exciting and thrilling for all of us! I look forward to seeing it."

When Baldwins attack …

The Baldwins, a rare breed originating in Long Island and beloved by ornithologists, have a tendency to become aggressive when threatened by NYC's second most populous scavenging rodents, the paparazzi. So it was Tuesday when the Baldwiningest of the species, Alec Baldwin, had a close encounter with a photog from the New York Daily News outside the city Marriage License Bureau. (Marriage license! Alec 'n' Hilaria Thomas must be on the verge! Right now! At this moment!)

The newspaper says its lensman Marcus Santos was "standing innocently with two other photographers when Baldwin, 54, approached with an angry glare." Things escalated when Santos tried to stop Baldwin from manhandling a second News photog, Jefferson Siegel. "I knew he was going to attack me," Santos tells the News. "He comes after me, starts shoving and punching me — one time, right in the chin. And then he started shoving me." Santos has filed an assault complaint with cops.

"A ‘photographer' almost hit me in the face with his camera this morning," Alec tweeted. "#allpaparazzishouldbewaterboarded."

Marriage wins 'n' losses

Nick and Vanessa Lachey say the baby they're expecting is a boy. … Be not afeared, Lady Gaga fans: Her GagaShip hasn't split up with her hot boyfriend, Taylor Kinney, says In Touch Weekly, contradicting recent reports. Even when she's on tour, Gaga calls her man "multiple times a day," an Insider says, "and she even wears a ring that Taylor gave her on a necklace." … Whitney Houston's ex, Bobby Brown, sported a red suit and Adidas sneakers while marrying his manager, Alicia Etheredge, in a ceremony in Hawaii Monday, says People. The couple's 3-year-old son, Cassius, served as ring bearer. Brown's daughter with Houston, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was conspicuously absent.

Quote du jour

"I grew up in Florida riding horses, so for the majority of my life I was either in boots and jeans or a bathing suit," says sex kitten du jour Kate Upton. "I understand why my male followers like me."
