$10,000 reward offered in shooting of 2-year-old

The Philadelphia police's Northwest Detective Division is offering a $10,000 reward for information on a shooting that sent a 2-year-old girl to the hospital in critical condition and injured three adults Saturday night in the Logan section.

Police hope the reward, announced Wednesday, will generate interest in a case that has few leads, Capt. Winton Singletary said.

Witnesses reported seeing a man firing a gun from behind parked cars toward an outdoor party on the 4600 block of North 12th Street. Police responded at 9:17 p.m.

The girl was taken to Einstein Medical Center, Singletary said, and is now in good condition at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.

Three men, ages 22 to 30, were treated Saturday night at hospitals for gunshot wounds.

Singletary said that even when it is a young child who has been injured, witnesses can be hard to come by. . "We don't know if there's a motive, or what this was about," he said.

Nothing was seized from the scene Saturday night, Singletary said. The sound of gunfire was originally believed to be children playing with fireworks, neighbors told police, and a DJ was playing music, making it difficult to hear if an argument occurred, Singletary said.
