Posted: June 22, 2012

One person was killed and another injured today when a sedan crashed head-on into an SUV driven by a staff member of the Atlantic County Prosecutor's office.

About 9 a.m., Galloway Township police received calls about a Pontiac Sunfire being driven erratically in the eastbound lanes of White Horse Pike (Rte. 30) in Galloway Township. As dispatchers took a report, the Sunfire crossed over the median and into oncoming traffic, slamming into a 2011 Chevy Tahoe driven by Daren J. Dooley, chief of detectives in the Prosecutor's Office, Galloway police said.

The Pontiac's driver died at the scene. Dooley, who was in a Prosecutor's Office vehicle, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City
