About the Power: Only win in last eight games was a forfeit by Cleveland on June 8 … The Power's quarterback is Bryan Randall, who led Virginia Tech to the Sugar Bowl after the 2004 season?…?Former NFL quarterback Mike Tomczak was brought in midseason as the offensive coordinator.
About the Soul: Already clinched the American Conference's No. 1 seed, but with a limited game-day roster of 24, expect the starters to play throughout. One exception could be a second-half breather for quarterback Dan Raudabaugh, but coach Doug Plank wasn't leaning that way during practice this week?…?Linebacker Dusty Bear (ankle) was activated off the injured list. He is expected to see limited duty.
Playoff update: It's been determined that the Soul's first-round game will be Saturday, July 28. With 5 weeks left in the regular season, the opponent is still TBD.
Poll position: The Soul remains second in the weekly coaches poll, behind Arizona (10-3).
Up next: The Soul's final regular-season road game will be Friday, June 29 at Tampa Bay. The 7:30 p.m. start could move back a half-hour if the NFL Network flexes Cleveland-Milwaukee out of the national game of the week.
