The body of a 30-year-old man was discovered early this morning inside a residence in the Bella Vista neighborhood of South Philadelphia.
The body, which appeared to have suffered blunt force trauma, was found inside a third-floor apartment at 8th and Christian Streets.
Chief Inspector Scott Small said the man was found face down and surrounded by a large amount of blood on both the walls and floor. Small said there were signs of a struggle.
Police said were first called to the apartment at 12:08 a.m. today by the victim's roommate. The roommate told police he had been out and returned home to find the victim unconscious and covered in blood.
