Police made an arrest Sunday in the April shooting death of a bystander caught between two men firing at each other on a street in Gray's Ferry, Philadelphia police said.

Shekinah Williams, 28, of the 2100 block of Sears Street in the Point Breeze section, faces charges in the death of Clarice Douglas, 45, officials said. The charges were not specified.

A warrant had been out for his arrest since April.

On April 20, Douglas was short in the head and back as Williams and another man were involved in a gun battle in the 1500 block of South Corlies Street, police said.

A mother of three, Douglas was pronounced dead at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Police identified the other suspect in the shooting as Hakeem Burley, 23, who officials said had showed up at the hospital with wounds to his arm and side, according to an April article in the Daily News.
