A severe thunderstorm watch has been lifted for Philadelphia and its neighboring suburban counties, but remains in effect till 2 p.m. for South Jersey and northern Delaware.
This morning, storms brought heavy rain, lots of lightning and even hail to some areas, especially from Bucks County eastward across New Jersey. Flights to the New York City area from Philadelphia International Airport reported delays.
A watch, suggesting severe weather is possible, is less severe than a warning, which regards hazardous weather as likely, under the National Weather Service's alert system.
