Supes up! Finalists coming to Philly

THE TWO FINALISTS for district superintendent will meet the public Monday and Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the district's auditorium, on Broad Street near Spring Garden.

Pedro Martinez, a deputy superintendent of the Clark County School District in Nevada, will be introduced to the public Monday. He has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master's degree in business administration from DePaul University. Martinez is a 2009 graduate of the Broad Superintendents Academy.

William R. Hite Jr., superintendent of the Prince George's County Schools in Maryland, will appear Tuesday. Hite earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education and a doctorate degree in educational Leadership from Virginia Tech. He also has a master of education degree in educational leadership from the University of Virginia. He's also a graduate of the Broad Superintendents Academy.

The district encouraged the school community at-large to attend.
