A man wanted in connection with a May home-invasion robbery in Southwest Philadelphia surrendered to police on the same day the 80-year-old victim died of his injuries, police said Monday.

Police said Aaron Pitts, 20, surrendered to homicide detectives about 11:30 p.m. Friday. He faces charges of murder, robbery, burglary, and related offenses in a May 17 home-invasion.

Police said that two men forced their way into the home of Joseph Fleming, 80, on Yocum Street near 66th Street and shot Fleming twice.

Fleming clung to life for a more than a month but was pronounced dead at 1:47 a.m. Friday, according to investigators.

Police also have an arrest warrant for Sean Johnson, 18, of the 2100 block of South 67th Street, in connection with the crime.

Authorities ask that anyone with information on Johnson's whereabouts call homicide detectives at 215-686-3334 or the police tip line at 215-686-8477, submit a tip at www.phillypolice.com/forms/submit-a-tip, or send a text message to 773847.
