Tennis legends Billie Jean King and Chris Evert and soccer players from the Union will make special appearances next month at Freedoms games this season.
King is the owner of the Freedoms, who play their World TeamTennis home matches at Villanova University's Pavilion. The 40th anniversary of her French Open win will be celebrated on July 14, Bastille Day, when the team hosts the Springfield Lasers. The first 250 fans will receive a Billie Jean King bobble head.
A "Meet the Team" party is scheduled for July 10, when James Blake and the Freedoms open the season against the Sacramento Capitals. Season-ticket holders will have a chance to mingle with the players.
