The body of a missing 7-year-old boy was discovered overnight at the bottom of what police describe as a murky pool in the yard of a homeowner in the city's East Oak Lane section.

Isear Jeffcoat, of the 1900 block of West Airdrie Street in Tioga, and earlier said to be 8-years-old, was dropped off in the morning at a day-care center at 1234 Rising Sun Ave. in North Philadelphia, police said.

Day-care workers took Isear and other children to a swimming pool in the 6600 block of North Eighth Street, where he was last seen around 3 p.m., police said.

The boy was wearing a purple T-shirt and blue basketball shorts, and was barefoot.

Northwest Detectives confirmed that the body was recovered at the pool between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. this morning.

Police said the Philadelphia Marine Unit Divers were called to do a thorough investigation of the pool where 7-year-old Isear was found. He was pronounced at the scene, and no foul play was suspected.
