Reports: Garnett returning to the Celtics

Kevin Garnett is returning to the Boston Celtics after considering retirement, according to multiple reports.

The forward will receive a three-year, $34 million deal, according to Yahoo! Sports.

"The decision came down to whether KG wanted to keep playing," a source told the Boston Herald. "And once he decided that he did, it was going to be Boston."

The 36-year-old Garnett just completed his fifth season in Boston after 12 years in Minnesota. He averaged 15.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game during the regular season, but upped his averages to 19.2 and 10.3 in the playoffs.

The Celtics have one other big name heading into free agency in guard Ray Allen. While he has also expressed a desire to return to Boston, sources told ESPN.com that Miami has made Allen its primary offseason target. Forwards Jeff Green and Brandon Bass are also slated for free agency.

Garnett is in position to reach some notable NBA milestones this season. If he scores close to 1,000 points, he'll move into the top 15 all-time, surpassing Allen Iverson, Patrick Ewing, and Jerry West. And if he grabs 500 rebounds, he will vault into the top 10 in total rebounds in NBA history.

Williams, Odom dealt

Mo Williams will be reunited with the Utah Jazz as part of a four-team deal that will send Lamar Odom back to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Additionally, the Houston Rockets received the rights to the Clippers' 53d overall pick, Furkan Aldemir, and the Jazz sent the team's trade exception to Dallas. The Mavericks also received cash from Houston.

While Williams put up solid numbers in Los Angeles under difficult circumstances, Odom - drafted fourth overall by the Clippers in 1999 - is coming off an underwhelming 50-game stint with Dallas that didn't even take him through the entire season.

Odom was the NBA's sixth man of the year for the Lakers for the 2010-11 season.
