In second game with IronPigs, Ryan Howard belts a double

Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard went 1 for 4 with an RBI Monday night as the designated hitter for Lehigh Valley in its 5-4 International League win over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees in 10 innings.

Howard, playing in Allentown for the Phillies' triple-A team while recovering from Achilles-tendon surgery, struck out swinging in the first inning. He grounded out to end the third inning and hit into a double play to end the sixth.

But he drove in Kyle Hudson with the IronPigs' third run on a line-drive double to left in the eighth inning, before being replaced by a pinch-runner.
