Connecticut. The Greater Hartford Jazz Festival 2012 runs July 20-22 at Bushnell Park, on Trinity Street. There will be live jazz entertainment in contemporary, straight ahead, smooth, Latin, and more; a variety of food and beverage vendors; and an arts and crafts marketplace. Delaware. The Delaware Shakespeare Festival runs July 13-28 at Rockwood Park and Mansion, 610 Shipley Rd., Wilmington. Gates open at 6:15 p.m. and you are encouraged to bring picnic baskets, blankets and low-backed chairs for general admission lawn seating. There will be music before the performance and two actors from the production will offer insight on the play. Maine. Maine Lobster Festival 2012 is Aug. 1-5 in Harbor Park, Water Street, in Rockland. There will be tons of steamed Maine lobsters served along with pageantry, waterfront activities, maritime displays, and demonstrations, Maine arts and crafts, visits to Navy and Coast Guard ships, harbor cruises, contests, entertainment, a parade, international lobster crate race, children's activities.
