Divorce for Dern, Harper
In matrimonial news of a darker nature, Laura Dern has filed court papers to reactivate her divorce from music man Ben Harper, says TMZ. Dern, 45, and Harper, 42, who wed in 2005, were headed for divorce two years ago but quickly reconciled.
Guess it didn't work out.
Dern asks for joint legal custody — but primary physical custody — of the couple's two children, son Ellery, 10, and daughter Jaya, 7. She has also filed for child and spousal support.
Bale: The Batsuit almost killed me
It's gloriously menacing on screen, but the modern Batman batsuit is torture to wear, says Christian Bale, star of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises.
"I think the very first time I put on the suit it was at the audition," Bale tells Parade.com. "The claustrophobia was just unbelievable. I stood there and I thought, ‘I can't breathe. I can't think. This is too tight, this is squeezing my head. I'm about to have a nervous breakdown. I'm about to have a panic attack.'?" Bale decided he could hazard the pain for his art.
Least he wasn't saddled with those garish Renaissance Faire tights from Adam West's day. The latest Batfilm opens July 20.
Hathaway: The moves killed me!
Bale's Dark Knight Rises costar Anne Hathaway says she wasn't so much concerned about her sleek, tight Catwoman outfit as with the moves she had to execute in it. "I had to learn how to fight. I had to become strong," Hathaway tells Parade.com. "So I went to the gym. ... And it was a complete transformation. I had never done anything like that."

‘Ted' director on ALS joke
Ted writer-director Seth MacFarlane has responded to criticism that a joke in the film demeans people with Lou Gehrig's disease.
"From one man to another, I hope you get Lou Gehrig's disease." Mark Wahlberg says.
"ALS is a horrific tragedy for those who suffer from it," MacFarlane, 38, says. "And by no means do I or anyone associated with this film have anything but compassion for the individuals afflicted." That said, he went on, "the joke in the film is made at the expense of our ‘villain,' Rex, and not at the expense of those suffering from the disease."
