NEW YORK - Landon Donovan, David Beckham and Thierry Henry highlight the Major League Soccer First XI team chosen by fans to face Chelsea of the English Premier League in the league's all-star game. The game will be July 25 at PPL Park in Chester.

No players from the Union were selected.

The team selected by the fans may not necessarily be the same one that starts the game against the European club champions. D.C. United coach Ben Olsen will choose the eventual starting lineup from a game-day squad of 18 players.

The rest of the squad will be named by Olsen and MLS commissioner Don Garber.

Those choices will be announced on Sunday.

All-Star Roster

Goalkeeper: Jimmy Nielsen (Sporting Kansas City)

Defenders: Steven Beitashour (San Jose Earthquakes), Aurelien Collin (Kansas City), Jay DeMerit (Vancouver Whitecaps), Heath Pearce (New York Red Bulls)

Midfielders: David Beckham (Los Angeles Galaxy), Dwayne De Rosario (D.C. United), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles), Graham Zusi (Kansas City)

Forwards: Thierry Henry (New York), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose)

Timbers fire coach. Portland fired John Spencer, the coach who helped the Timbers prepare for the jump to Major League Soccer last season.

The Timbers are 5-8-4, with no road wins this season.

General manager Gavin Wilkinson will coach the team for the remainder of the year.

Queens Park signs Park. Queens Park Rangers signed midfielder Park Ji-sung from English Premier League rivals Manchester United on a two-year contract.

England U-19s beat France. England set up an under-19 European Championship semifinal with Greece, as goals from John Lundstram and Harry Kane lifted the Three Lions to a 2-1 win over France.
