Letters to the editor

IT IS IRONIC that while President Obama slams the corporations, banks and insurance companies for being greedy, he never mentions Hollywood, the unions or professional athletes. Of course, much of his support comes from these liberals. He doesn't mention the millions he received from JP Morgan, and other banks, and Wall Street.

The fact that so many Americans cannot see the rampant socialism and communism in this administration is frightening. People had better wake up, and quickly. One by one our freedoms are being stripped away. Of course, the liberal media is more than willing to support this radical, un-American agenda. Shame on all of you. You in the media will be singing a different tune when they come for you.

Double-dipping

Re: Madeline Dean's " Reflections of a rookie." (July 11).

Ms. Dean, you finish your piece by saying, "maybe next year we will invest more in our people and our communities." Do you think maybe you should consider your own two faces? Right after you were elected county commissioner, you then ran for your state rep seat in the 153rd. Do you want to run for Congress, too, and collect a third paycheck from the taxpayers? In order to fund the infrastructure and education changes you propose we need more revenue. The taxpayers of Pennsylvania are already getting killed. Maybe the employees of the state who are double-dipping (YOU) should do their part. Two faces are never better than one.

Justice in cop's death

My heart goes out to the family of Officer Lorenzo. It amazes me how anyone can get in an automobile drunk and expect nothing to happen. There is no accountability in laws. It is always another person that gets killed; the substance abuser or the drunk driver gets a slap on the wrist, maybe two years at the most. It is disgusting.

My prayers to the family; and may justice be served.
