Flyers unveil 2012 preseason schedule

Posted: July 12, 2012

THE FLYERS' 2012-13 preseason schedule was announced on Tuesday, and the Orange and Black open up with four straight home games and finish with three in a row on the road.

One of the "home" games will be in London, Ontario, where the Flyers host the Ontario-based Toronto Maple Leafs on Sept. 26., at the John Labatt Centre. It is the ninth straight year the Flyers have hosted a team in London and the third time the opposition has been the Maple Leafs. The arena is operated by Comcast-Spectacor's Global Spectrum.

The preseason opens the night before, Sept. 25, when the Flyers renew their rivalry with the 2010 Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks.

Heading back to Ontario on Oct. 2, the Flyers will play the Maple Leafs on their home ice and will then bring the exhibition season to a close with a trip out to Chicago to take on the Blackhawks at the United Center.

The Flyers open the regular season on Thursday, Oct. 11, when the Boston Bruins come to South Philly. n
