Grace Hall breezes to Delaware Oaks win

Big favorite Grace Hall took the lead in the upper stretch and then won going away under jockey Javier Castellano in the $400,000 Grade 2 Delaware Oaks at Delaware Park on Saturday.

Finishing second in the field of seven fillies in the mile-and-a-sixteenth race was Via Villagio, ridden by Kent Desormeaux. Holding on to third after taking an early lead was Amie's Dini, with Jon Court aboard.

Also at Delaware Park, Starformer scored a gate-to-wire victory in the $200,000 Grade 3 Robert G. Dick Memorial.

With Edgar Prado aboard, the 4-year-old daughter of Dynaformer won by three lengths.

Bubbly Jane, the 9-5 favorite with Javier Castellano, finished second, and it was a head farther back to Sikara, with Jeremy Rose, in third.

Parx. Jay Em Ess Stable's Redeemed had been dominating recently in New York, winning his prior two starts by almost 20 lengths. Sent off as a 1-9 favorite, he probably made more than a few people nervous when he and jockey Ramon Dominguez were forced to hold off the late challenge of 11-1 shot Not Abroad to win the $200,000 G3 Greenwood Cup at Parx Racing by only half a length.

The victory earns the 4-year-old colt an automatic berth into the G2 Breeders' Cup Marathon on Nov. 2 at Santa Anita.
