Ex-Temple quarterback Nejman dies at 91

Joe Nejman, an honorable mention All-America quarterback at Temple in the 1940s, died on July 13. He was 91.

Nejman played during the 1942, ' 46 and ' 47 seasons. In between, he served in the military during World War II.

Nejman graduated from Frankford High School, leading the Pioneers to their first city title in 1940. He was an assistant coach at Temple from 1960-65.

Nejman is a member of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. He was a teacher at Cheltenham High for 34 years.

A memorial service will take place Saturday at St. Hilary of Pointers Church (820 Susquehanna Road, Rydal) at 11 a.m.
