Humphries takes playful shot at new boss, Jay-Z

Posted: July 19, 2012

KRIS HUMPHRIES is good at taking shots. On and off the court.

On Tuesday, he signed a 2-year, $24 million extension with the former New Jersey — now Brooklyn — Nets.

Then he slam-dunked Kanye West, via Twitter.

"I'm up at Brooklyn! @S_C_ ‘lucky I didn't have Jay drop me from the team' lol!"

Humphries' tweet is a reference to West's song "Cold," which contains the following verse:

"And I'll admit, I fell in love with Kim

‘Round the same time she had fell in love wit' him

Well, that's cool, baby girl, do ya thing

Lucky I ain't have Jay drop 'im from the team"

Kim is Kim Kardashian, who is in the process of divorcing Humphries. She's now hooking up with West and the two reportedly are talking marriage.

Jay is Jay-Z, who is West's friend and part owner of the Nets.

Looks to us as if West's buddy just gave Humphries more money to give Kim in their long, bitter divorce settlement.

Romo holding court

Tony Romo is anything but a gentle gentile.

That's according to David Naxon, who played against the Cowboys quarterback in basketball games at the Jewish Community Center in Dallas.

"He's extremely physical," Naxon told TabletMag.com. "He'll push you around. He's not going to hold back just because you're a young, Jewish man."

Another opponent, Itzy Ribald, took a playful shot at Romo.

"I think he's jealous that he never had a bar mitzvah, so he is taking it out by kicking the Jews' butts on the court," Ribald said.

"He's shockingly good from what you would expect from a football player."

Naxon said he initially found it hard to play all out against Romo, because he didn't want to injure him.

"At first, I thought I don't want to injure him because I'm a big Cowboys fan, and I would be devastated if he got injured," Naxon said. "But when I saw that he wasn't holding back, I decided not to, either."

That's the spirit, David.

Hit him high, hit him low. Do enough damage to put Romo out for the season and Eagles fans will be forever in your debt.
